東京在住 アラサー社会人の備忘録です。

if you are tired in hectic tokyo

hi, how r u doing?
today i reccomend you the interesting place to see near from tokyo.
the place is NOKOGIRI YAMA (it means Mt. saw)
there is Nihon-Ji (Japan Temple) on the top of mountain and you will see the biggest sitting buddha in japan. his haight is about 31 meters. Big Buddhas are famous in Nara and Kamakura also for Japanese but the biggest one is here in Nokogiri-yama, Chiba(next prefecture to tokyo).

it takes about 2 hours by train from Tokyo sta. to Hama-kanaya sta.) or about 3 hours from tokyo to the mountain by car.
the mountain looks like just a mountain. but you may be surprised when you reached at the gate of Nihon-Ji, the place of the biggest buddha.
the sign board tells you to walk for 40 mins to see the buddha, and the way to go there is up-and-down, like climbing mountain!
so prepare sneakers and towel to wipe your sweat;

Nokogiri-Yama was famous as quarry before. the quarry was closed about 20 years ago. you can see wild and dynamic scene from top of criff! it's thrilling but fun!

when you see the buddha in front of you, totally you will weel happiness in your heart.
on the way go back, drop at see view hot spring and eat Sashimi (raw fish) set, combo of maindish, rice and miso soup. usually it cost less than 1000yen. it's standard of lunch for japanese workers.

oh, i almost forgot.
i strongly recommend you to use cable car from the bottom of the mountain to the Nihon-Ji. they sell one-way ticket and round-trip ticket but even going down the mountain will make you burnout.
